Counting Han

Last updated: 2026-06-18

Han from yaku sets whether you can win and scales base points. Study with Scoring Basics and Fu Basics.

Rules of Thumb

  • No yaku → no win (except noten penalty contexts) → effectively ≥ 1 han
  • Multiple yaku add (yakuman separate)
  • Mangan thresholds depend on rules (e.g. 5 han or 4 han 40 fu)
